Spring runoff — watch for debris in laterals

Spring snowmelt has increased flow in the ditch, and with it the amount of branches, leaves, and sediment moving through the system. A few laterals have already partially clogged.

What you can do:

• Walk your lateral and clear any debris caught at screens or culverts.
• Do not push debris downstream — pull it out and dispose of it away from the bank.
• Report any blockage you cannot clear yourself so it can be addressed before it backs up.
